Sullivan Control System Hardware is engineered to be the best you can buy. Every component is designed to be simple to install and unbreakable under normal conditions. Our Gold-N-Clevises are widely recognized as the very best made, our steel control horns are strong, stiff and light, and our Ball Joints are the only links that have a locking sleeve.

Only the best materials are used: Hardened, tempered steel, Valox®, Glass reinforced nylon and Nickel are among the specifications.

Control System Hardware

Gold-N-Clevises

These tempered steel clevises are the strongest clevises made. They feature an interlocking collar, welded pin and an exclusive steel retaining clip to prevent accidental opening. They are brass or tin plated for easy soldering.

Clevis Tool

A simple, inexpensive tool to open clevises easily. A magnetized slot holds the clevis retaining clip in place, the tab assists in installing and removing retaining clips, and the inset sections will hold the clevis open while installing in model.

Pushrod Connector

Heavy Duty Pushrod Connector. Connects straight rods to servo arms or other controls. Features an adjustable 0-80 nut to hold it onto the control/servo arm (instead of a push-on washer) and an exclusive brass locking tab to lock the set screw in place. For 2-56 and 4-40 sized rods.

Locking Sleeve Ball Joints

These ball joints are made of glass filled nylon and provide a full range of motion, permitting off-axis operation. Unique, spring loaded, glass reinforced sleeve holds plated steel ball firmly in place yet is easily released for changes and final adjustment. These are ideal for throttle connections and internal servo arms.

Double Ball Joints

Elevator Splitter. Two ball links with locking sleeves connected to a plated steel “dumbbell” allows motion from the servo arm to two parallel surfaces at the same time.

Hardened Steel Control Horns

Nickel plated steel control horns are light, non-flexible and very strong. Complete with nylon bushings for smooth operation and to prevent metal to metal contact.

Adjustable Control Horns (See Control System Components Page for all control system hardware).

Standard Size Adjustable Control Horn has a Nylon Horn that self threads onto a 6-32 Screw. Horn position adjusts control throw; the screw threads or glues into the control surface. Designed for Sullivan 2-56 or 4-40 Gold-N-Clevises (not included). Suitable for all models to 1.80 engine size. Click here for instructions.

Large Scale Adjustable Control Horn is suitable for all control surfaces on all R/C planes! Features a Heavy Duty glass filled nylon horn, an 8-32 screw and an anodized machined aluminum support base. Horn is adjustable for control throw, and has a .750" (19 mm) offset to permit mounting away from hinge line. Includes horn, screw, base, 4-40 Gold-N-Clevis, 4-40 stud and Retaining Clip. Large Scale Adjustable Double Horn is suitable for pull-pull setups on rudders and elevators on all large R/C planes. Features the same Heavy Duty glass filled nylon horn above, but has a 4" threaded 8-32 stud that threads through the control surface. Horns are independently adjustable for control throw, have a .750" (19 mm) offset to permit mounting away from hinge line. Metric Couplers are excellent for ARF retrofit, or to match hardware in an imported kit. The S536 will fit cables and rods from .036" to .063" (0,9 mm to 1,6 mm), and the S537 has a through hole that can accommodate cables and rods from .025" to .036" (0,6 mm to 0,9 mm).

Nylon Bearing/Washers

Nylon Shoulder Washers. Useful for bearings, through-hole guides and electrical insulators. Four each of four standard IDs: 1/8”, 5/32”, 3/16” and 1/4” (3,0, 4,0, 4,8 and 6,3 mm).

Pushrod Clamp

Designed to make control rod installation and adjustment easier, these tempered steel clamps hold the casing securely in place without adhesive. Fits Sullivan 503, 504, 505, 506, 508, 514, 515, 580 and 581 Control Rods as well as most other brands. Small to medium size.

Flying Wires and Cables

Flying Wires or Tail Brace Wires

Universal Flying Wire Kit. For wing support or tail braces this kit includes eight feet of both .032 Brass Plated Stainless Steel Cable and 120 lb. test Kevlar® Aramid Cable. In addition, there are special steel brackets with brass bearings and enough hardware for nearly any type of installation. Complete kit.
